Pandanus

Pandanus spiralis, sometimes called the "screw palm," is the source of fibre used by aboriginal people in making traditional crafts, including baskets, fish traps, dilly bags, wall and floor mats, and even shelters. Pandanus occurs throughout the subtropics, the tropical coastline and savannah.
